Update Your Website by Texting Otto, No Developer Needed

The short answer

Our team builds your website. On a care plan you get the SCC Portal, and inside it you text Otto, our AI assistant, the small change you want, like new hours or a swapped photo. Otto confirms what he will change, shows you a preview, and the change only goes live after you approve it, with every edit saved in version history, where one click undoes it.

Coming soonOtto and the SCC Portal are coming soon. Until then, a real person on our team handles your website changes.

The problem

Most small business websites go stale for one simple reason: changing them is a hassle. Holiday hours, a new menu item, a staff photo, a price on a service page. Each one means logging in to a builder you barely remember, or emailing a developer and waiting a few days (and maybe paying for it).

So the changes pile up. The site says you close at 5 when you now close at 6. The team page still shows someone who left in the spring. Customers notice, and some of them call your competitor instead of asking.

How it works

  1. Our team designs and builds your website. With a care plan, we give you access to your SCC Portal at launch.
  2. You open the portal and text Otto, written however you normally write. For example: “Change Saturday hours to 9 to 2 and add a note that we’re closed on Thanksgiving.”
  3. Otto reads the request and replies with exactly what he plans to change, page by page, so you can catch a misunderstanding before any work happens.
  4. Otto makes the edit on a preview copy of your site and shows it to you right in the chat.
  5. You look it over. Reply “approve” to publish, or ask for adjustments in the same conversation.
  6. Once approved, the change goes live and is logged in version history with a note about who asked for it and who approved it.

Human checkpoints

Otto makes the small edit, but a person signs off before your public website changes.

  • You approve every change from the preview before it publishes.
  • SEO settings and analytics tracking are protected from accidental edits, so a quick text change can’t quietly break how Google finds you.
  • Bigger requests (a new page layout, a booking feature, a full redesign) are handed to a person on our team instead of being guessed at.

We keep a person approving on purpose. Your website is the public face of your business, and a quick human look costs you a few seconds.

What it doesn’t do

Otto is there for the small changes and fixes that make up most website upkeep: text, hours, photos, prices, announcements. He doesn’t design or build your site (our team does that), and he won’t redesign your brand, build new features, or make judgment calls about your messaging on his own. If you need changes that involve legal wording, a human on our team handles it. And if you only touch your website once a year, this may be more than you need.

Illustrative outcome

Picture a shop owner who used to keep a running list of “website fixes” on a sticky note. Now, when something changes, they open the portal on their phone between customers, text Otto two lines, check the preview, and tap approve. The sticky note goes away, and the website starts matching what actually happens at the business.

Questions people ask

Do I need to know any code or log in to a website builder?

No. You open your SCC Portal and text Otto the change in plain words, the same way you would ask a coworker. Otto handles the edit and shows you a preview before anything changes.

What if Otto gets the change wrong?

Nothing goes live until you approve the preview, so you can ask for a fix first. If something you approved turns out to be wrong later, every change is in version history and can be undone with one click.

Can anyone on my team change the website?

Only the people you give portal access to. Most businesses limit approval to the owner or one or two trusted people.

Can I message Otto from Slack or regular text messages?

No. Otto lives in your SCC Portal, which we give you access to when your site launches. That keeps every request, preview and approval in one place.
