Run a Website Privacy Compliance Check (CCPA and GDPR)

The short answer

AI scans your website for common privacy gaps, like trackers that load before consent, forms that collect more than they need, or a privacy policy that doesn't match what the site actually does. You get a list of findings in plain English, with suggested fixes. A person on our team reviews it with you, and anything legal goes to your attorney.

Coming soonOtto and the SCC Portal are coming soon. Until then, a real person on our team handles your website changes.

The problem

Most small business websites collect more data than their owners realize. An analytics script, a chat widget, a booking embed, a social media pixel someone added three years ago. Each one may set cookies or send visitor information somewhere, and the privacy policy was probably copied from a template before half of them were installed.

For businesses in sensitive fields, like a wellness clinic or a therapy practice, that gap matters more. Visitors expect discretion, and a form that asks for health details over an unclear connection or a tracker on an intake page can become a real problem. Most owners have no easy way to see what’s actually happening.

How it works

  1. AI loads your website the way a visitor would and records every cookie, tracker, and third party request, including when each one starts.
  2. It reviews your forms, consent banner, and privacy policy, and compares what the policy says to what the site actually does.
  3. It writes up the findings in plain English, sorted by how much each one matters, with a suggested fix for each.
  4. A person on our team reviews the findings for accuracy and walks you through them.
  5. You decide which fixes to make. Simple website changes can go through Otto with your approval. Policy wording goes to your attorney.
  6. Optionally, the check runs again on a schedule so new tools don’t slip in unnoticed.

Human checkpoints

AI finds and explains, and people decide and act.

  • A team member checks every finding before you see it, so you’re not acting on a false alarm.
  • You choose which fixes to make and in what order.
  • Your attorney approves anything that changes your legal language.

Privacy touches legal risk, so the AI never changes consent settings or policies on its own.

What it doesn’t do

This is not a legal opinion, a certification, or a HIPAA compliance program. It can’t review what happens to data after it leaves your website, like inside your CRM or email platform. And it can’t tell you which laws apply to your business. If you handle protected health information or payment data directly, you need specialized compliance help beyond a website check, and we’ll say so.

Illustrative outcome

Imagine a small wellness studio that learns an old ad pixel was still loading on its booking page, and its privacy policy never mentioned the chat tool. With a short, readable findings list, the owner removes the pixel through Otto, updates the banner, and takes a focused list of questions to their attorney instead of starting from scratch.

Questions people ask

Is this legal advice?

No. It's a technical check of what your website actually does, written in plain English. Use it to have a faster, cheaper conversation with your attorney, not to replace one.

Do CCPA and GDPR even apply to my small business?

It depends on where your customers are, how much data you collect, and your revenue. Many small US businesses fall outside the strict thresholds, but customers still expect basic privacy practices. Your attorney can tell you what applies.

What does the check actually look at?

Cookies and trackers and when they load, consent banners, form fields, embedded third party tools, your privacy policy link and content, and how contact data is sent and stored.

Does it fix the problems too?

Some fixes are simple website edits you can approve through Otto. Changes to tracking, consent tools, or policy wording are reviewed by a person, and policy language should be approved by your attorney.
